Menopause hormone therapies, also known as hormone replacement therapy, address a woman’s naturally depleted hormones. Menopause hormone therapies are approved to treat certain menopause symptoms and some are also approved to prevent postmenopausal osteoporosis.3
According to The Menopause Society, hormone therapies are effective treatment options for hot flashes and vaginal symptoms. The Menopause Society (formerly The North American Menopause Society) supports MHT for women younger than 60 or those who are within 10 years of their final menstrual period and do not have contraindications.8
